The Friends of Our Lady of Tintern is a group of like minded people who were moved by the discovery of a 13th century statue of the Virgin and Child in the Cistercian Abbey at Tintern.
We are an ecumenical group and welcome everyone to our annual sung vespers within the Abbey.
Please take a look around our site and, perhaps, join us. We rely solely on donations and the support of the Friends.
Our patrons are
The Most Revd George Stack, Archbishop of Cardiff
The Right Reverend Cherry Elizabeth Vann Bishop of Monmouth
Rt Revd Daniel van Santvoort OCSO, Abbot of Caldey
Rt Revd Dom Paul Stonham OSB, Abbot of Belmont
Chair of Friends of Our Lady of Tintern:
The Rt Revd Dominic Walker OGS
CANCELLED - TINTERN ABBEY SUNG VESPERS 2021
The Friends of Our Lady of Tintern Committee were planning to hold Sung Vespers on 12 Sep 2021. Planning was complicated not only by Covid regulations but also by ongoing repairs to the fabric of the Abbey. Regrettably planning has now stopped and the Service has had to be cancelled.
