Welcome

The Friends of Our Lady of Tintern is a group of like minded people who were moved by the discovery of a 13th century statue of the Virgin and Child in the Cistercian Abbey at Tintern.

We are an ecumenical group who recognise Tintern Abbey as a living pilgrimage site and not just an historic ruin. We arrange an annual Eumenical Service of Sung Vespers and were instrumental in commissioning the carved stone statue of Our Lady of Tintern which is in the Abbey Church. We are also keen to encourage the Marian Way, a pilgrimage walk centred around Tintern.

Please take a look at our site and particularly our history and please join us for Sung Vespers held on the second Sunday of September each year. We welcome donations as we rely on donations from our supporters.

Our patrons are

The Chair of Friends of Our Lady of Tintern: The Rt Revd Dominic Walker OGS
